About the Consortium
What is the Cyber Studies Consortium?
We are an initiative of the not-for-profit National Cyber Partnership, with the mission to train veterans and others for high-skill, high paying cyber jobs with a focus on cybersecurity, starting with the greater Tampa Bay area.
Well-suited for military transitioning into civilian life and vets seeking a cyber career
The Cyber Study Consortium's groundbreaking 'next generation' cyber curriculum was developed with input from instructors with fieldcraft experience as well as our business, job recruitment, government and military partners. Our inaugural program, Cyber Foundations, is fast-track, online training built around the highly-regarded Information Security and Information Security Management Certificate Programs already in place at the University of West Florida, and Saint Leo University, the second largest provider of academic degree programs for military personnel in the United States and around the world under Department of Defense contract.
Backing of the State of Florida
The State of Florida played a pivotal role in creating the Cyber Studies Consortium and its curriculum with $750,000 in start-up funding. Cyber Foundations is a new model for cybersecurity education created by the not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) public-private National Cyber Partnership and is sponsored by the National Cyber Partnership and the State of Florida, Department of Economic Opportunity.
